Again, McGuinn claims that he cobbled together a series of sound compression circuits in a box...he called it the "jangle box"... into which he would plug the Rick. From there, he fed to the Roland JC-120 amp with treble cranked up.
Someone is now commercially producing a facsimile which McGuinn endorses, it sells for about 300, and you can get one here.
