Quite honestly I never knew of anyone in the family that had "his" and "hers" little brown shacks, although one relative (somewhat of a true craftsmen of his generation) insisted that the minimum suitable accomodation required at least three holes. The "his" hole was a noticably different shape than "hers," although he never fully explained all the features; and of course the "kids" hole had to be small enough so the littlest of them wouldn't slide in and get stuck. (Although it still happened a couple of times.)

Separated facilities never seemed a necessity even when the whole tribe got together for celebratory purposes, even when we weren't all the same tribe.
