FIFTEEN current shows focused on crime, a bunch of re-run shows focused on crime, and two or more supernatural shows involving blood (vampires) and guts (spatter effects).

I'm not saying these shows lead to violence, but they sure reflect and intensify the despair and lack of creativity of modern life. They also shape the popular perception of life. We are crime. We care about crime. We care about guns and retribution and dealing with the results of despair.

We don't care so much about doing anything to fix it.
