Nobody has seriously suggested giving up all guns.    Single-shot rifles should be fine.

But also nobody has made a convincing case the general public needs handguns.

That's where the push needs to be made--against handguns and guns other than single-shot rifles.

Otherwise you get into a domestic arms race--which is what we have now.

And just the list of casualties on "Gun Appreciation Day" should show the insanity of that approach.    A similar list happens every day.

Maybe if each daily list could be published-with details such as the 7 year old shooting his 5 year old brother--the general public would become aware of the daily carnage, and start to put pressure on Congress to stand up to the NRA.
