In spite of the tragic events, 1959 was still a pretty decent year for rock 'n roll...

"Battle of New Orleans"..... Johnny Horton

"Stagga Lee"..... Lloyd Price

"Smoke Gets in Your Eyes".... The Platters

"Sea of Love"..... ???

"Running Bear"..... Johnny Preston

"Kansas City"..... Wilbert Harrison

"Charlie Brown"..... The Coasters

"What'd I Say"..... Ray Charles

"Sea Cruise"..... ???

"Tiger"..... Fabian

"Poison Ivy"..... The Coasters

I'm sure there were lots more that escape me right now but I really enjoyed that year... Of course, that was the first year that I "made out" (Nina Willimas) so it has to be one of my favorite years in spite of the loss of Buddy Holly, Richie Valenz and the Big Booper...

Elvis??? Wasn't all that eat up with him...
