Now the authorities here are being silly - perfectly legitimate meat producers have been targeted for handling horse meat.

Horse carcases from Ireland are being broken down for sending on to Belgium in a cutting plant. The meat is not processed, not made into meals, mince or burgers, simply boxed up and loaded onto wagons for export.

In an interview for TV the owner pointed out that all the paperwork was in order, and despite reports that they had been shut down, the place was open and working as usual.
