he sang and played a few songs at the Irish American Artists and Writers awards ceremony last autumn. His voice was weaker than it used to be and his walking is stiff but he could play the banjo quite well and his memory isnt so bad he cant introduce his songs and sing them and chat with people (hearing loss was a problem for conversation in a crowd).
