enoch the quaker had a contrary cow called daisy.one day as he milked her she was exceptionally ill tempered and stood on enochs foot,lashed him with her tail,kicked the pale over when it was half full and other instances of bad humour.each time enoch said nothing but carried on till he got a bucketful of milk.then he stood in front of her and addressed her thus
   "thou knowest that i cannot curse thee or strike thee,but i can sell thee to mr shaw the atheist!"
