I personally can live with not knowing lots of the mystery word, except for one: "kicker"! I'm afraid that doesn't mean much to me. Does it make much sense to you, Lighter, or is it just what you're hearing?
I did/do also hear "kicker," but it didn't scan for me meaning-wise, so I had to throw in my lot with "keeper" and do some rationalizing to let the rest make sense!

That we both seem to agree on the phrase "Lou'siana belle" is some progress, at least! The currently available Carpenter materials have it filed as something like "Lucy Anna", which works a bit as a red herring, I think.
