When the right to use the name was purchased from Budvar way back when, there was some sort of agreement that they couldn't import the real stuff.

I have not even tasted American Bud for 'about' 30 years, when I sipped a bit at my wife's cousin's place, just to be polite.... I sneakily poured out most of it.

And...yes, Erich... we've all heard the old joke, and you can still buy trainloads of the bland, watery stuff. But with a tiny effort, you can get great beer of 'almost' any type here. (Not some of the special Belgian Ales etc., though there are decent clones of many of those,too.)
