South Yorkshire folkies may be interested to hear that Kiveton Club has Derek Gifford appearing as guest this Tuesday, 5th March.
Derek is a long standing performer of no little repute, having appeared at clubs and festivals here and abroad for over 25 years.
He has a repertoire based on traditional song but also includes many contemporary pieces set in traditional idioms.
He has a rich voice, singing both unaccompanied and with guitar and bowed psaltery, both instruments being used with a great measure of talent.
So, to hear a fine voice, lots of interesting songs and a few chances to get yer gob around a chorus or two, get down to Kiveton Park Folk Club this Tuesday. Admission £5, including food. Kick off approx. 8.30.
