Yo, Jeri; ya, finally, finally, last evening it clicked for me. I was pretty sure it was just about the flow of sound, but I had very little idea of how a lot of it really should sound in French.

I took it along to the local Tim's where we hang out most mornings, and asked if anybody could read French. No takers today, but someone said that one woman who does will probably be there tomorrow, so will see if I can get her to read it aloud for them, & see who catches on first.
