I frankly never did find "the one", though I've known some pretty fine women along the way. I just wasn't meant to spend a lifetime in a relationship with any of them, that's all. I've met a few women I wished I was mature enough...or still young enough...to make me the right partner for them, but not this time around.

So maybe next time. (If I happen to live again.)

In the meantime, I'm putting my energies...what's left of them...on other objectives than the old desperate romantic search for "the one" dream lover who haunted my youth. That search isn't the real be-all and end-all anyway, as far as I'm concerned, though many take it to be (and that's perfectly okay for them, if that's what they want).
