Since I retired from my 18 years on a disability, I've rarely had a night where I didn't dream about being at work. It was with the New Jersey State Park Police. In all the dreams, I realize I'm not supposed to be there, but no one besides me seems to be aware that I don't belong there. Many times, in the dreams, I ended the dream by saying "I quit", then wake up. Last night, I dreamed that I shot a criminal who was attacking a park employee. I wounded him, and everyone told me it was justified. I then told my boss that I was retiring. I keep hoping that with every "retirement" that I dream, it will be the last time I dream about it. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
