Subject: RE: BS: Lucid Dreams a little writing excuse
Lucid dreaming is more than just remembering your dream. It's knowing you're dreaming and consciously directing what happens.

I read a book back in the 70s: "Creative Dreaming". I tried it, and after a while, I started having lucid dreams. These are dreams in which you're aware you're asleep and dreaming and can control what happens. I'd escaped from somewhere and was going down a river on a raft, and thought "I shouldn't run. They say you shouldn't run away from things in your dreams because you have to face your fears or you'll just keep being afraid. But I'm not afraid, am I? I'm having fun floating down the river. Fuck it."

I just now realized this dream might have been about lucid dreaming. Your id has a party when you dream. If you go in and try to make your subconscious behave, dreaming is no longer much fun. I wish I could switch back and forth, but I just left it all alone for fear that I'd succeed in become a control freak in my own dreams. That once I turned that switch on, it would remain on.
