Bush was pissed because Saddam had tried to kill his daddy and the Chicken Hawks tried to capitalize on that to grab the then second largest proven oil reserves because they thought it would be cheap and easy. Feith and Wolfowitz spelled out what they thought the cost/benefit would be before the invasion. You can Google them and read it in black and white I am sure.
