As for those who professed to like the gag, I bet you can't find that many from this side of the ocean that didn't read it with a valiant yet evanescent grin which rapidly morphed into a groan. Never judge the efficacy of your jokes by the reaction you get from across the pond. You should also know not to do that by now.
