Thread Name: Chord Req: Closing Time (Goats Don't Shave)
Subject: Lyr Add: CLOSING TIME (from Goats Don't Shave)
I can't help with the chords, but maybe it will help someone if I post the lyrics, since it looks like they haven't been posted at Mudcat before.

CLOSING TIME
As sung by Goats Don't Shave on "The Rusty Razor" (1992)

1. I looked at the crowd as I pulled [or "poured"?] out the words of my song.
Tonight for a while there was some even singin' along.
Now I read the faces and I know just what's on their minds,
Like the man playing pool trying to impress the girls with his style
Sticks out a mile.

CHORUS: He said: "Pour me a whiskey, bartender, now please; all night I've been drinkin' your beer.
Just one more drink makes the goin' home easier.
Yeah, pour me a long one; make it a strong one; fill up my glass one more time
Before closin' time."

2. See the woman who wears too much makeup, sits by the stage.
The man that she married ran off with a girl half her age.
"Just set up the drinks," she said; "I got some money to spend.
Raise all your glasses; let's drink to another weekend,
My friends."

CHORUS: She said: "Pour me...."

3. Last orders ladies and gentlemen, now, if you please
And the bartender turns down the lights and he picks up his keys
And I sing my last song and thank them for bein' so kind
Tonight was all right and I think I might stay on behind
After time

CHORUS: I said: "Pour me a whiskey, bartender, now please; all night I've been drinkin' your beer.
Just one more drink makes the goin' home easier.
Yeah, pour me a long one; make it a strong one." As [he] filled up my glass, the clock chimed.
It's closin' time.

It's closin' time.

It's closin' time.
