We sit around a couple pushed together tables in the back, try not to step on each other's songs, and stay out of the way of the waitresses. No mikes. If we know it, we all join in. Curmudgeon's the boss man.

The session is sort of a legal requirement. The Press Room has a "ballroom" liquor license, which means its liquor license isn't tied to serving food, as most NH establishments must. (It does, though, and the food is very good.) But The Press Room has to have entertainment from opening til closing. The Friday bit started (actually on tuesday) with Curmudgeon by himself, armed only with a concertina and guitar. Over the years, it's turned into whatever it is it's turned into. It can be very crowded. It can be very loud (either "listeners" or musicians or both). It can be absolute magic. Or anything in between.

Tonight most of the hard core instrumentalists (and 2 singers) have a gig and won't be there, so we can concentrate on singing (which is actually what the audience prefers, anyway).

We look forward to singing with anyone who cares to join us!
