Yes, I spoke to Art and then I spoke to Chris. That's why we've narrowed the search to a touch-screen laptop. Thanks for the link to Acer. My first laptop (many years ago) was an Acer and it was a workhorse that got me through graduate school.

Chris thinks that working on this scholarly project (a writer from Idaho is working with Art, via Skype and email, on a book of Art's song lyrics) is energizing his dad. And right there, if we can keep the interesting work accessible and keep Art contributing the music he loves via a piece of equipment, that can be our biggest motivation on making this choice.
