The bizarre thing is how those waxing indignant (lovely expression that one, it deserves to be revived) at expressions of derison and contempt towards Thatcher at this time fail to appreciate that those of us who see her in that way feel precisely the same about the chorus of expressions of adulation in the media.

Respect toward someone who has died is one thing, but hagiolatry, and in this case Maggiolatry, is something else. It invites an equivalent response.
