What this new computer means is that anything he sees on the screen that has an underline or color change to indicate it is a link, he can touch the screen at that point to open it. It doesn't need the mouse to do that kind of task.

Do you have or need a stylus to make precise touches on the screen? You can get them very inexpensively through places like Amazon. My son (Computer Science major at U of AZ) assures me that the best way to use touch screens is to develop the touch with your hand, but a stylus can help, if you can aim it accurately.

You'll have to tell is if the computer touch screen lets you enlarge items by touching in a couple of places on either side of the item in question and moving your hands apart (like you see on cell phone screens).
