Thread Name: Lyr Req: Edward on Lough Erne's Shore
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Who knows Irish 'Lough Erne Shore' ?
First: Thanks for your help. But: Sorry to disappoint you, Matt, what I'm looking for is definitely a text called "Lough Erne Shore", not "Paddy's Green...". Let me give you a few of the lines I understood; or at least I think I did so:

"One morning, as I were on the fowling, bright xxx ("wee birds"?) sat all around the plain 'Twas down by the banks of Lough Erne I met with this wonderful Dame Her voice was so sweet and so pleasing, her beautiful note she did sing The innocent fowl of the forest their love unto her they did bring."

I got a version of Eithe NĂ Uallachain and there's also a version of Andy Irvine - but I just cannot understand what exactly they sing...
