Here's something I read about that may apply to you. I was reading about premature babies who in hospital, and the author said that "If you visit your baby, the staff will take better care of it."

I'm not going into the reasons for that, but it probably applies to patients of all kinds. If you encourage people to visit you, the staff will see you as a more treasured, a more monitored, and a more important person. It's true that it sounds like they are doing a fine job now, but there's no harm in keeping them motivated where you are concerned.
