It is Ed Sanders account of the flowering years of New York's downtown bohemia in the '60s starting with his founding of the underground magazine Fuck You/A Magazine of the Arts, the travails of running his Peace Eye Bookstore and the founding of (along with Tuli Kupferberg) and career of his band The Fugs.
