Thread Name: BS: GMOs (Monsanto)
Subject: RE: BS: GMOs (Monsanto)
And..I wrote this yesterday, after getting home from the Stop Monsanto March here in Torquay. These marches happened all over the world yesterday with many city centres being brought to a standstill. Not a word has been reported,of course, but the photos are now out there on Facebook and word is spreading...

Here's what happened down here in Devon:

>>"All *THIS* For A Fucking Cabbage?" - FIRST, WE TAKE MONSANTO.........

Saturday, 25th may 2013, and finally people all around the world came to March Against Monsanto and ALL that this evil group of people stand for. From Amsterdam to Japan and all points inbetween, people came together to say "ENOUGH!"

Down in the West Country nearly 100 people gathered by the harbourside in Torquay, as warm. golden Sunshine turned the ocean into a Sea Of Diamonds, *finally* bringing Summer to a confused, depressed and dangerously-sick climate.

Nearly 100 people were gathered together, holding their banners, shouting their words out for others to hear, as they began to march towards the town centre....The puzzled faces of the passers-by said it all, for so few knew about GMOs or Monsanto itself. They watched in curious curiousity as a group of passionately caring and concerned people gave out leaflets, stopped to talk to them about what is happening to their food, to their children's future, drawing in as many as they could to teach, reach, inform...

Many people seemed quite stunned to see The March going past, for this doesn't happen every day in Torquay, but today, it did...Others though, laughed, jeered....and two young girls walked past me just as one of them yelled to her friend.....

"All this for a fucking cabbage?!"

....and I knew she had just given me the BEST title ever for what happened today.

I walked over to them both..and they looked a little worried. I explained this wasn't about a 'fucking cabbage' at all, but it was about their futures, the future of the children they would more than likely have one day in the future. They had never heard of Monsanto, they were totally unaware that some of the food they have no doubt eaten at some point in their lives, is sprayed with substances so toxic that those who do the spraying have to be covered from head to foot in protective clothing, so as not to become affected by the poisons they are spraying on the crops...poisons which burst open the tiny stomachs of our Tiny Insect Relatives, killing them in the most terrible way...They did not know their Bee Relatives are dying..and they had NO idea that WITHOUT the Bees and the Butterflies, our food does not get pollinated..

Their patronizing and smug smiles began to fade....

"You see those people there..." I said to them, sweeping my arm towards the marchers, now moving up the High Street, away from us..."they are *anything but* crazy. They are not marching to protect a 'fucking cabbage', they are marching to protect YOU and your unborn children to come. They are marching to protect our bees, our insects, ourselves. They are marching to spread the word and to join with tens of thousands of people around the world today who are also coming out to scream, rant, rage or simply stand in silent protest over a company that wants to entirely dominate the food production of the WORLD. And if you think I am telling you lies, then please, keep the leaflet you have been given, and tonight, go home and find out what is happening to *your* world, via Google. Then, tell your friends and tell them to tell their friends, because all of us have to come together, all ages, all backgrounds to rise up and take our world back...Tell your friends to get angry too....

Finally they were listening. I told them NOT to get depressed because The Good People around the world WERE now Rising Up Together to Stop The Shit and what they were seeing today was just a small fraction of a Global Movement of The People joining up to defeat the Insane Corporations....but we needed them to come on board too...

Seriousness had replaced smugness and silliness...and they started to look at their 'Monsanto Leaflet' with different eyes, as I left them with a smile and a reassurance that we WOULD win this fight...together.

A little further up the road and one of the older gentlemen on the march suddenly found himself being shouted and screamed at by a very threatening man who had taken umbridge at being given a leaflet by someone else. He launched himself on this poor man, going right up to his face, "Who the FUCK do you think you are, giving me this fucking leaflet, I just want to eat my fucking lunch!" Whereupon his children also launched themselves upon this quiet and unassuming man too..."Yeah, fuck OFF!" they yelled...."Go on, fuck off!". Then 'The Family of The Year' turned and walked away, anger still bristling...

What do you do with people like that? Deeply aggressive, arrogant prats who have taught their children to be exactly like them, not an ounce of gentleness inside them?

Well, I tell you what you do...you keep walking until you reach the Torquay Arts House a little further up the road and there, you step into a very DIFFERENT world, filled with Love, Hope and Support...

The Torquay Art House was part of the protest, with many of the good folks from there joining the march and opening their doors afterwards to everyone who took part. They've taken over one of the empty shops in town, filled it with art work, settees, a small kitchen, a free shop (where, yes, *everything* is *free*) and bucketloads of LOVE...for here they support each other in any way that's needed...

"Come and connect, with like-minded People and like-minded Hearts" they told us all....

And I knew that what I was seeing here, in its first early days of being set up, was a microcosm of what will soon be happening around the world, for this is ALREADY a place without leaders, with REAL democracy, By The People For The People, in action....People who are there for each other come what may.

Whilst there, the image of that foul and angry man just a short while earlier kept going through my mind...and I wondered how he might change, if he lived in a world without stress, filled with love and support at every turn. Would his anger subside? Yes. Would his children be far happier? Yes....

It is as if we almost need to spray ourselves with our own form of 'Pesticide', not one that destroys our very Beings, but one that TRULY rids us of 'Pests', those who have, for so very long, decided that THEY would rule us in every way, inventing rules, taxes, low wages, prisons, ecocide, genocide, regulations, bills, jobs, schools, armies, war, religions, all to bring control, hatred, control, fear, control and anxiety..

The Time Has Come to Rid Ourselves of ALL those who seek to Control, to Take Over, to Dictate, to Rule...

FIRST...WE TAKE MONSANTO...<<
