Jacinta was eventually re-engined and was able to travel from Fleetwood to various maritime events around the UK, including attendance at the Spithead Review in 2005. However stricter regulations and insurance costs, and the difficulty of recruiting suitably skilled crew mean it is no longer possible to do this, so the vessel is again confined to the Fish Dock in Fleetwood.

Brian Baxter, mentioned in the third verse, was the elder brother of Ron Baxter (Sailor Ron on Mudcat). Brian worked on trawlers till a winch-block tore out of the deck and smashed his leg. He then continued working at sea on survey ships till he retired. Like many fishermen of his generation who saw trawler owners well rewarded for de-commissioning their ships follwing the Icelandic Cod Wars, he was denied compensation for many years until a belated scheme brought an award - just a few weeks before he died. The last time I met him was on board the Jacinta, at our annual Fylde Festival concert when he showed us some great pictures from his time on the trawlers.
