Johnny Come Down To Hilo is just such a superb tune that it demands to be sung. I suppose the one after that in Hugill's Shanties Of The Seven Seas could fit.

Thats "The Gal With The Blue Dress On", and the chorus for JCDTH already has that phrase in, as well as others "stolen" from songs such as Camptown Races, etc. I believe it was part of the shantying tradition to borrow verses from other shanties - some verses appear in many shanties.

I'll try a bit of folk processing and see how I get on.
