Well, I'd say today was a wasted day, but I DID finish a book and I DID take a nap and I DID get a couple items dated to 1989 and put in the proper binder.

Zero to sixty -- or rather 50sF. to 90sF. with no adjustment period. Humid, too -- that's unusual for this early in the...I guess it must be summer. Remember, parts of the state just west of us had snow last weekend...

After breakfast I debated between putting clothes on and going out to follow up on some of those yard sale signs I saw yesterday or turning on the fan and taking a nap. Since I couldn't keep my eyes open, that's what I did.

Got some minor weed pulling accomplished around the Siberian irises -- the yellow tall beardeds are blooming and one of the purples. Raked some more dry leaves off the "lawn" (well, it could be lawn if I can consistently rake the dried leaves off the area AND transplant the various volunteers that should be in a flower bed). Also plotted which small trees down the hill out back can be taken down (yet again) with a lopper (REAL SOON) and which will require a bow saw.

Planted some (bought cheap yesterday) chartreuse-colored vinca in the planters at the head of the driveway when I got the mail. And the mail (very surprising for a Saturday) was all important stuff.

Killed the deer tick I found crawling on my pants leg. (Yes, despite the heat and the humidity, if I'm out back in Tick Land I'm wearing long pants and socks and heavy shoes.) Oh, just found another one wandering around on my pants leg. Flushed that one down the sink.

Talked to my neighbor a little while ago and she would like the 4 pieces of the clear acrylic pyramid I have in my car (that another friend didn't come to the Press Room for last night).

I guess it wasn't as much of a wasted day as I thought.
