Subject: RE: Exercise, Diet, Declutter ~~~~~~June 2013
Another major piece of paperwork knocked off --this one is worth about 250 bucks and the deadline is June 30. I'll have it to the PO and in the mail this afternoon on my way to raid a friend's garden for more stachys (and whatever else she wants to part with).

I dug some more euphorbia this morning, but got the sage planted. Planted the stachys I got last night from a neighbor. He didn't have that big a clump to start with so I didn't accept much from him to rebuild my border. I also moved a variegated ornamental grass from one bed out back to another that will, I think, have more sun. It never thrived in the old location and just appeared to be hanging on. Also pulled some more weeds and small maple seedlings out of what should be "lawn" (well, grass or groundcover outside of the flower beds).

BTW, I can't seem to identify one weed that I've been pulling. It's leaves resemble wild strawberries (but usually doesn't grow as large) and has a yellow flower. It spreads by reddish running stems. Any ideas?

It's funny, half of the "lawn pests" at the standard websites are either ground covers I rather like or are edible plants. I guess I really don't like the type of lawns city folk seem to think are most attractive. I don't mind any of the clovers, and creeping charlie makes a nice groundcover in some places. I really don't want to mow any more than I have to which is why the flower bed behind the house is there -- when I tried to make it lawn with a flower border, it wouldn't cooperated. I figured if the flowers wanted so much to grow there, it could be a flower bed if it wanted. And, hey, I don't have to mow it...

Better go make lunch before Tom wastes away...;-)
