"Shall I be wafted" is a corruption of the second verse of Isaac Watt's "Am I a soldier of the cross"

Am I a Soldier of the Cross?
A follower of the Lamb,
And shall I fear to own His cause,
Or blush to speak His name?

Must I be carried to the skies
On flowery beds of ease,
While others fought to win the prize,
And sailed through bloody seas?

Of the 13 verses given by Barbara, the originals are 1,2,3,6,10,11. See my earlier post for 4; 13 is a variant of 11. 5,6,7,8,9 I recognize as verses from other hymns. Mostly by Watts, but I'd have to dig to be sure. Some might be by Newton, just part of different hymns. 12 I've never seen before but it sounds like a newish verse written to go along with the rest of AG.
