My wake-up call was almost 6 years ago when I broke my arm because I was in a hurry. But I was a kid of 58 then...and Tom could not only still see, but had his voice and had no problems walking...

I HAVE to be careful and I'm reminded of it constantly. I just helped Tom to the table (from his bed) because he couldn't see. He couldn't see my face in front of him when I went to kiss him.

Not only can he no longer take care of me if I do something stupid, but he'd have no one to take care of HIM (but strangers).

So, ultimately my broken arm was a good thing -- it made me very aware that I can no longer take the chances of youth. I have to keep myself safe so Tom can, too, be safe.

Now...STOP SCARING THE CRAP OUT OF JACQUI!!!!
