I always understood that this was written by Dr Sheila Douglas after a news article in a national paper.
Sheila died earlier this year after a long period of illness however her son Colin will be able to confirm I am sure.
We remember Sheila singing the song around 30 years ago both at her Scone home and at Glenfarg F.C.
