I've seen many cases where lobster fishermen think that because they have been catching them for years that they know more about them than the state biologists. They look down on anyone who is educated. Fact is, they know how to catch them, and that about all they know. I can argue this point from personal knowledge gathered in 16 years of fisheries law enforcement.
Right now the commercial fishermen in Portland are blaming the government, ( The National marine fisheries service,My old agency) for reducing the amount of flounders and shrimp they can catch. They are the ones who have over fished them!
