There's a cut on that album by J.P. Cormier that is practically dumbfounding simply with the speed of his flatpicking. Speed in itself doesn't do much for me, but J.P. plays technically cleaner and faster than anyone I've ever heard. He's not generally well known but, oh boy do the rest of the pickers know him!One night I marvelled at his skill when he picked up a fiddle and played a slow air in Bb. Great pitch, timing and dynamics. As a fiddler/guitarist he has only one equal, and that's Mark O'connor. I think they're pretty good friends.
