I met her very briefly when a friend and I were walking in the woods behind the friend's family home in Fishkill. I admired the cabin and the Burma Shave style signs along the road on the way up to it. She asked if I knew who Pete Seeger was. Yes, I did! We didn't intend to stop, we were just passing by, and Toshi left the house. It was a quick hello, they spoke for a couple of minutes, and we were on our way. It is the most amazingly peaceful location. They lived a full life there - condolences to Pete and the family, they must be heartbroken.
