Fibula, your fifth line down would have c rowing back to cm, so there would be ccm when the boat reaches that side of the river.

This one is complicated, and involves the position of the boat and who's in it, and I'm fairly sure somewhere along the line, someone has got to be rowed in the wrong direction. Unfortunately, my brain hurts from trying to figure it out.
