If you're there during August, check out the Fringe schedule. There will be many great little concerts at reasonable prices. Besides the Edinburgh pubs already mentioned, try the Tass, the Canons' Gait, the Captain's Bar, the Antiquary, and the White Hart. We have found very nice sessions at them all.
