"Oh, of all the comrades that 'ere I've had, they are sorry at my going away....."

The wash of emotions flowing over me just now are hard to express. I remember when she came to us.   I remember how she "had something to say" and, like Joe, I resented it at first. But time went on and that huge, yet ailing, heart started shining through. We became friends, we fought, we agreed, we argued. But no matter what, we both loved the same thing - Mudcat. Not the server or the threads, rather the Arts, Spaws, Sinsulls, Jeris, Maxs, old dudes, and all the rest of youse layabouts. I watched as this great heart lovingly called and maintained contact with ailing friends. I read her wise words cast on the wind, and knew she was a rare being. I met her, her daughter and young Morgan on a trip to Colorado with my family and had lunch and sang songs for them all afternoon. It was a special time, and one I will never forget. I still remember the loving hug she gave me.

Morgan, it has been such a pleasure to read your beloved Grandmother's descriptions of your growing up. Take some time, young friend, and think on the lessons she taught you about love of music, love of our fellow creatures, and love of the land upon which we walk and are responsible for. Think not just of her words but also how she lived. And always remember that she lives in your heart and mind, but it is up to you to make sure her voice is heard in you. Further up in this thread, Bill D gave you a great gift. He told you how to look up everything your Gramma wrote here about you, her precious boy. And don't worry, young friend, every new CD I do, you will get a copy of.

Kat, for all the good times and some that were not, I want you to know that I will miss your genuine and authentic goodness, and the unconditional love you spread around this place. You remained my friend when I didn't deserve such friendship. My life is better for having you in it, and I am sad at your parting too soon.

"But since it falls, unto my lot, that I should rise and you should not, I gently rise and I softly call, good night and joy be with you all"
