Subject: RE: Summer Declutter & Fitness - AUGUST '13
I rolled into the driveway this evening after a precarious drive home from the Dallas airport. I filled the radiator at the airport, then 30 miles later I stopped in east Fort Worth to add water to the radiator (it isn't steaming and building up pressure because it is leaking somewhere). The light came on again three blocks from the house (right in front of the Chevy dealership!)

I can almost find it in me to be pissed off at the Chevy folks. If someone drives in with a vehicle malfunctioning (in a road-hazard sort of way) then not looking at it for two days, not even a cursory glance to say "I wouldn't drive to the airport and back" I'd have had made other arrangements. Yes they were a mechanic short because one lost his mother last week - they told me that any time I called or they called me. That doesn't mean you send people back on the road in hazardous conditions. I had to pick up the truck on Friday afternoon so I could get the the airport and schedule the repair tomorrow (Thursday). I shouldn't have driven it at all.

I'm home with pretty much everything I took with me and just a few extra small items. We each mailed a small box back. I had a pound or more of loose tea in bags from the Market Spice shop and didn't want that in my luggage. This was a trip for visiting with people, not buying souvenirs or going out and doing expensive touristy things. That said, we spent enough time in downtown Seattle wading through the sea of tourists near the Pike Place Market to last me for a very long time. Once you get a few blocks away from the market it settles down to a manageable number of people out there on the sidewalk.

Truck goes into the shop early tomorrow and I'll work at home. The dogs will get to come in in the heat of the day. They're doing fine (and what an exuberant greeting I received!) but will enjoy the break from the dog days of August.
