Only just read these posts having tried to trace my lost youth. I played football for The Nag's Head Folk Club Football Club in the early seventies with many ne'erdowells of that parish and we were quite a handy side. Tom, the bass player was our treasurer and Mike Deegan, guitarist, was an accomplished centre back. Every season we played a charity game in Amberley and took Jugular Vein or another local band to entertain the masses in the evening session. Max and "Muff" weren't too involved in the footy but we often had boozy, musical Sunday afternoons with the aromatic vapours of Gartons' Glucose Factory taking the enamel off your teeth. Another fan was Al Cooper of Temperance 7 fame who hosted our drinking sessions a few times at his pad on Wandsworth Common. If anyone knows details of Mike Deegan's circumstances I'd appreciate a contact.
