A few years back, at the North Texas Irish Festival, the rumors started flying around on Sunday that Altan was coming in to play one set. I sort of blew it off and ignored it until one of the festival directors came up to me and asked if the band I was with at that time
would mind giving up our set to allow Altan to perform.
The situation was that if we didn't give way to Altan then we would be on stage at the same time they were. I don't ever want to miss Altan, no way, never, ever. They weren't scheduled to appear, but, they like our festival and when a Sunday came open they rang us up and BINGO - winners all around. A great set, by the way.
