Thread Name: contemplator site back up
Subject: RE: contemplator site back up
Presumably the musicians here want to use Contemplator's site as a source for beautiful music, because this site has (IMHO) the finest arrangements traditional tunes anywhere on the web.

When I want to play a tune, a box pops up with a warning about an ActiveX control. You can read about Active X here:

http://www.microsoft.com/security/pc-security/activex.aspx

It's no big surprise to get a warning about a site that plays music. Computers were not originally designed to process sound, and sound files used to be very powerful and unpredictable. There are still technicians out there who think that music programs are black magic.

Anyhow, on the page I gave above, Microsoft says that if you trust the site, then go ahead. Do I trust Contemplator? Yes.

However, if you don't want to do that, you can Save the music to your MIDI program. I did that and didn't get any warnings. Then you can have your virus-checker check it. I did that, and the music was fine.
