Ed... a pub here in Moncton used to (I haven't been to a pub in well over 10 years) serve fried mussels and they were far better than fried clams. Gave up eating mussels after the tainted mussel scare... a couple of elderly people died and some people suffered seriuos early dimentia, ie, memory loss. Of course, the time is nearing when neither will be of consequence for me and I'll be back at Cheers Tavern fer a BIG feed. I think it's on... oh... you know... the street with the fire department on it... down near Rinzler's Meat Market... wait... yeah... in back of Rinzler's somewhere. Oh crap! I was right close today and forgot to go to Rinzler's for carrots and onions on sale. No... no... that was last week. Hmmmmm. I must check the fridge and see if I went to Rinzler's and got carrots and onions last week. And then to Sobeys and get some mussels.
