Progress on the closet/pantry, but I'm revising how to support the shelves on the left side. The studs behind the wall aren't in a great place so I'm putting a supporting 2x4 from the floor up back where I need the support. I'll describe it better later, I'm inventing it now. :)

Susie came down for lunch, I didn't have much here so I defrosted bagels, toasted them then melted cheese on top and we had a side of canned peaches. I know, odd, but it worked for us. She is down in the dumps because of the things shes perceives that she can't do, or do as well, as before the accident. A friend has her doing some therapeutic painting but she wasn't entirely happy with it (Susie taught art for many years.) So I pointed out a lovely huge agave at the back of my yard, in front of a dark shady batch of trees, and told her I've always liked that contrast and would she paint that for me for my holiday card? "It isn't Christmassy!" to which I asked her if she has ever known me to celebrate the holidays in a religious way? So we took the camera out and got a dozen or more shots, came back and loaded them into the computer and picked the best one. I'll email it to her later (I have to help her install her printer this evening before I head to the airport to pick up my son.) She'll work from the photo print. Of course you can see the wheels turning here - she was in a lot better mood when she left the house. Now I need to work a little magic for myself!

I have dough kneading in the bread machine, when it finishes I'll put it in a standard bread pan and it'll come out of the oven right before I leave for the airport. I have chicken ready for this evening to make his favorite chicken strips. I know the visceral smell of freshly made bread is not subtle, but it is very welcoming to a kid who grew up on home-baked bread! I'm a little short on vegetables right now, the garden is kind of limping along. I may have to pick up some broccoli on the way home.
