Sounds like you've nailed it, Suzy.

I've been inhabiting this planet for some time now, and I don't think I've ever seen any president treated in as downright nasty and obstructionist a fashion as the Republicans are treating Obama.

With the possible exception of Franklin D. Roosevelt, who, although he was wealthy himself, cared about people and the country as a whole, put people back to work with the WPA, the CCC, and other agencies, and basically ended the Great Depression, brought on in the first place by the Republican policy of allowing the Robber Barons to do anything they wanted, and started a bunch of regulatory agencies, such as the Securities and Exchange Commission that required Wall Street and its mignons to behave themselves, stop playing Robin Hood in reverse and ripping people off. They hated FDR because he was for the people in general, not just the fat-cats.

Obama is no FDR, unfortunately, but he's doing his best. But--of course, getting stonewalled at every turn.

Impeach Obama? No! Throw most of Congress out and get in some decent people who CARE about the people, not just the bloated rich!

And in addition to Obama's being a Democrat and trying to initiate some programs that will allow the United States to catch up with the rest of the civilized world--such as a decent health care program--one of the reasons many people are against him is they can't stand the thought of some uppity XXXXXX in the White House!

If they react this way to him, how do you think they might react to a Democrat who happens to be a woman running the country?
