you'll find the Plaque on the cabin door to say (paraphrase) -
"Contrary to public opinion, Davy Crockett was not 'born on a mountaintop in Tennessee...'. Instead he was born in this river valley in what was Franklin (territory). Dreams die hard and as they say "when the legend becomes fact, print the legend". Translation - I'll stick with the song and Fess Parker (who portrayed both Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone).
