Thread Name: Lyr Req: Are You Diggin' Them, Dillon? (B Shine)
Subject: Lyr Add: ARE YOU DIGGIN' THEM DILLON (B Shine)
Sorry for the delay! Here are the lyrics as I heard them sung by Brendan Shine. I've also e-mailed them.

ARE YOU DIGGIN' THEM, DILLON?
As sung by Brendan Shine

Have you heard the story of the old puck goat that came from Farranfore,
In a little town in Kerry, where goats don't roam no more?
It's about a man named Dillon who cursed throughout the week,
And how he was digging spuds one day, when the goat to him did speak.

CHORUS: Are you digging them, Dillon? Are you digging them deep?
Are you piling them, Dillon, in a great big heap?
"I've been digging them," says Dillon, "enough to fill a boat,
But I'd be digging them more if it wasn't for you, you great big ugly goat!"

Now that goat was stealing Dillon's spuds for twenty years or more,
And every time he saw him, Dillon cursed and raged and swore.
He caught him in his tatie patch one sunny Sabbath day
And as his curses lit the sky, the goat looked up to say: CHORUS

They say it was a priest that was passing by when he heard old Dillon curse
The goat and the spuds and the Lord above for making all things worse.
To hush the Lord in Heaven on his way to mass that day,
As he stood behind the shady branch the good priest he did say: CHORUS

You could never tell Dillon 'twas the priest that spoke to stop his blasphemy,
As he stood behind the shady branch where Dillon couldn't see.
And to this day in Kerry in the town of Farranfore,
They still believe 'twas the goat that spoke whenever Dillon swore! CHORUS

Best wishes, Yvonne
