It took ages to get my post to go through (the 'cat is running very slow today), so I didn't see Michelle's exposition on a messy house. Sounds like you made great progress. I try, when I have the energy, to do dishes and counter cleaning the night before as a gift to my future self, but sometimes it just isn't possible. Don't beat up on yourself if it occasionally isn't your top priority.

That said, I don't have pears, I have peppers to deal with today. Lots of peppers to clean, slice, and freeze. It's gonna be messy in here tonight.
