My home town is actually a village in the interior of Cape Breton Island, but many of the world's best Celtic performers have graced the stage at Celtic Colours concerts there. To pick the greatest would be far too subjective!
The first public appearance on stage of The Rankin Family also took place there long before world wide fame called. Of course they were from only a few miles away and we all just called them Buddy's kids.
Great fiddlers such as Winston Fitzgerald and Buddy MacMaster regularly played for dances there.
That all being said my dear departed friend and cousin Donnie MacKinnon ranks as the most talented person that I have ever known. As subjective as that may be he was the greatest in my eyes!
